SUNSHINE INSURANCE MARATHON BAHAMAS DONATES MARATHON PROCEEDS TO PMH FOUNDATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TRIBUNE MEDIA GROUP
The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation Fundraising Committee launched the national fundraising crusade “Caring for Breast Campaign” to raise funds for much needed new digital mammogram machine for the Princess Margaret Hospital. The “Caring for Breast Campaign” was launched in October 2011 with “Go Pink Day”. Their fundraising efforts have been successful to date raising $100,000 of the $500,000 desperately needed for the new mammogram machine.
After two successful fundraising initiatives for the dialysis machines and Breathe Easy Campaign which collectively raised more than $700,000 in charitable funds, The Tribune Media Group has partnered once again with the PMH Foundation Fundraising Committee to support the national “Caring for Breast Campaign” and help the program reach their goal. Corporate organizations are encouraged to become involved and do their part in helping to raise the funds for such a worthy cause – a new digital mammogram machine for PMH.
As stated by Sharon Wilson, Chairman of the PMH Foundation Fundraising Committee “We thank all of the sponsors and volunteers who have contributed to the campaign thus far. We thank Sunshine Insurance Marathon Bahamas for its presentation today which will be used to accelerate the Caring for Breast Campaign in conjunction with the Tribune Media Group.”
Long standing community partner Sunshine Insurance Marathon Bahamas’ commitment and dedication to breast cancer awareness in the Bahamas and the “Caring for Breast Campaign” was acknowledged with their check presentation in the amount of $10,000.
Presenting the donation, President of Marathon Bahamas and Sunshine Insurance Brian Moodie stated “Through our efforts and collaboration supporting the BBCIF, Sister Sister, the Cancer Society and the PMH Foundation, it came to our attention PMH needed a state-of-the-art diagnostic mammogram machine. We are pleased to present proceeds from Marathon Bahamas to the Caring for Breast Campaign to assist with the new mammogram machine. ”
